These two feral fellows are the villainous henchmen in my Tom Blackbird project.
In celebration of this Friday the 13th weekend, I wanted to introduce everyone to a seriously spooky website that's been giving me the jitters for countless years. The animator is Mr. Edward Bain, and his wicked little site, The Devils Tramping Ground is an interactive experience that’s going to scare the living daylights out of you!

great critters ! Cool link to that other site too.
I like that the cats look like they have bits of things stuck to them. Makes them look like they've been rolling around outside.
Also, I'm totally picking a copy of Gwango as soon as i get some $$$!
Nice work with the cats! Very ferrel.
Thanks Michael and Lissa.
AWESOME!!! amazing, astonishing, awe-inspiring, exciting, hair-raising, heart-stirring, impressive, magnificent, moving, overwhelming, spine-tingling, stunning, thrilling
Need I say more?
Please Jimmy, go on!
They look pretty sweet. And thanks for the website.
I'm not much of a cat fan, but I think it could just be because I hadn't seen these two cats before. Nice one! And thanks for the link... I haven't made it past the main page yet b/c I keep getting freaked out.
Bully bullies!
Thanks for sharing the neat-o link too!
nice images.
great site-
I need to check that out fully
when I have some time!
GREAT BLOG¡¡¡ cool work
creepy and funny designs!
You get a very personal style.that´s great, always impresive.Great blog!
This is awesome!! Wicked!
Grrrrr.. fierce fellows. Justin this illustration is amazing! So many wonderful details to look at. I like the way the first henchmen's tail is curved, and it's looks so heavy like a dino's tail.
Great link too. Spooky : )
Finally got to crack open Gwango's Lonesome Trail, very beautiful and inspiring. Fantastic job!
Jared, I hate cats too! I have a terrible allergy, along with a distain for the smell of them -- I guess the salty reek of cat litter, hair and tuna chow isn’t my cup of tea. These 2 gents are monolithic, were talking fifty feet tall, so I guess I’m trying to conquer my fear?
Hey Stephen!
These cats are awesome Justin!!! Love the designs, the colors and the textures. It almost looks like they've been rolling around on a field of candy and a good part of it stuck to their fur. Really cool idea and as always very original and Justin'ish!
Take care,
Hans
I really like the various shell-type thingys in the fur. Great work, Justin. Yer right about that site, I curled up in a ball and wept. Quietly.
Dang how do you get that crazy jagged texture quality. I love that, its my favorite part.
Here’s the secret Ian -- I take a cheese grader to the finale image, then I finish the sucker off with a pickax. It’s kind of sloppy, but it does the trick!
Meow! Smashing stuff, JP!
Did you get your copy of FRANKENSTEIN'S CAT yet? I posted it to you last week, should be with you by now!
wonderful!
Excellent designs.
So FREAKIN cool!!!
Those creatures are really weirds...
So they're greats!!
I'll add you to my blog links.
Greetings from Spain.
Yes, the 'Parpan cheese grater pickax technique' is working well I see.
Just love this image.
Great... fantastic steel... I love...
Best regards...
Saludos desde buenos aires...
Hello Justin!!!!
Great, congrats :o)
hahaha these guys rock!!! fantastic :D
why is the two headed monster dog/cat thing so sad looking Justin?
Did it skip breakfast?
Man! I havn't been here for a little bit, but glad I'm back to see your awesome stuff. I like this one a lot, you really have a unique and interesting style. Really cool to see something so new.
Thanks all. I’ve been a bad blogger lately and have been a little slow in the comment department. I want to thank everyone for the pretty comments, I appreciate them immensely.
