Something from the dingy dark bowels of my sketchbook. I apologize if it’s a little moldy and musty looking, but this drawing is over a hundred and fifty years old! I drew it during my days as a Victorian naturalist working for the British Museum of Natural History.

Steven, nice to hear from you. Glad the Pixar gigs not keeping you away from the world of blogging!

Ivaylo, coming from you, that’s quite a compliment. Your works absolutely genius man!

Alina, Mattias and Lee, thanks, your words mean a lot.

Elliot, your damn right.

Greg, how’s the summer treating you pal?

Dave, sure you can add me to your links, it would be an honor. When I get around to adding some new links of my own, I’ll do the same—if that’s all right with you?

-a mystery finaly solved!

Wow! Your career as an artist is epic. Any chance of you posting any more of your work from the Victorian days? I really enjoy this piece. Were you working from a real model? Where were you at?

Thanks for stopping by Vogel.

Josh, the smell and the bugs and the rats, that has nothing to do with my age. That’s just bad hygiene—a major problem I’m desperately trying to overcome!

Jared, in all seriousness, I’m working on a new project that’s produced a lot of ruff drawing work— so there’s more pencil sketches to come. As for the model, it’s from one of those famous Crystal Palace Park Iguanodon statues in Britain. (But all you Dino nerds probably knew that already.)

Goobeetsablog, nice to hear from you.

Oh, yeah...The ones where they thought the thumb was a horn and stuck it on his nose. Hehe. Awesome.^^

justinpatrickparpan said...

Hey Moro,

Yep, that’s the one. I heard the sculptor started construction on a couple of those same Dino’s in central Park, but never finished. They say their still buried under the park. Kind of eerie, don’t you think?

Sweet. What a nice work. What are you doing it in?

Jo Bling said...

Cracking stuff, Justin. Lowbrow ahoy (and I mean that in a good way as that's what some folk consider me as).

Also good to see Mars Attacks in your faves (I worked on it!)

Check out the badablingthing blog anyway buddy, would love to see you call in.

Bling!

Angel, the new post is a pencil drawing, nothing more, nothing less.

Jo Bling, checked out your blog—that’s one impressive resume you have there, and some really nice work as well. Glad you found time to drop by my neck of the woods.

Pleasure's all mine Justin. Your work rocks, it's official. You ever want to talk about other dino-related projects we should put our amateur palaentologist heads together and rustle up a show!

Stay in touch, buddy!

Will do Mr. Bling!

Wow! I remember this one! I was in the back towards the celebrity brains in jars at the time. I think you were in the terrible lizzard department.

Hey Stephen, great to hear from you. Whats it been, 75, maybe 80 years? Wow, time really fly’s when you’re drawing dinos.

Ryan and blau, thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate the kind words.

Hey Edward, Yep, this sluggish gent was the finale at the end of my portfolio. I thought it screamed, "This is my work, and it's kind of funny looking!"

Gregory, I have a tone of moldy-oldie pencil drawings from the dawn of man. Maybe some time in the future I’ll share them with the world, maybe I will... (as I stroke my invincible beard)
